My name is Kellie Tonkin – please call me Kel.

When I relocated to this remarkable region in 2017, I never expected to fall in love with it as deeply as I have. Originally from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, I was concerned the transition would be too extreme. I was very, very wrong!

Moving to Lake Macquarie and exploring the fantastic city of Newcastle and the Greater Hunter Region has been the best decision I’ve ever made. I’m truly grateful to live in such a breathtaking part of the world and be surrounded by wonderful people.

Meeting so many amazing individuals has been a highlight for me, and I look forward to meeting many more. This includes establishing professional relationships with my clients while building friendships along the way.

I have a fantastic husband, two adult children, and two adult stepchildren – we all adore each other and love our beautifully blended family. As they embark on their individual journeys, our dog Luna has become the centre of our household.

People are my passion, and I work as a nurse in aged care. It brings me immense joy to care for those who have helped shape our lives and the world we live in, particularly during their most vulnerable times. I consider it a privilege.

Becoming a celebrant was a natural progression in my quest to bring happiness and joy to people’s lives. I take the responsibility that comes with being a Commonwealth registered marriage celebrant very seriously and assure you that you’re in good hands.

My friends describe me as warm, engaging, positive, and full of life – additionally, I am capable, organised, meticulous and diligent.
